AGONY

In Loving Memory of Greg Melvill-Smith.

‘Agony is something else…one of those masterfully written scripts…Craig Morris is, as always, exceptional. Just go see it.’— Sarah Roberson, The Critter

‘An excellent portrayal.’ - Lisl Griffioen, Cue Media

A room, a chair, a gramophone player, cats and a man’s memories are brought together by a finely written and detailed script and a towering performance.

Conceived by Greg Melvill-Smith and Douglas Thistlewhite and written by Iain Paton, AGONY tells the story of Malcolm Leask, a man and his cats, coming to terms with where life has left him…a dark, but ultimately redemptive experience…

Malcolm is portrayed by award-winning actor Craig Morris (Tartuffe, Johnny Boskak is Feeling Funny, Standard Bank Gold Ovation Award, Naledi Award for Most Cutting Edge Production, nominated for Best Male Lead.)  It is directed by Megan Willson with puppet design by Jenni-lee Crewe.

“Greg was far more than just a son-in-law to me. It is a real honour for me to have a team of this calibre to bring “Agony” to fruition” - Doug Thistlewhite
